President's Message
Hollie Valenzuela, Roswell SCHOOLS

New Mexico School Nutrition Association
President Hollie Valenzuela
Dear Members and Colleagues,
I hope the start of the school year has been both successful and inspiring in your districts. Each year brings new challenges, but also fresh opportunities to serve our students with nutritious meals, creative programs, and a renewed sense of purpose. I want to thank each of you for the leadership, dedication, and advocacy you bring to our work. School nutrition is more than serving meals, it is building healthier futures, supporting academic success, and providing comfort and community to the children we serve.
This year, we have important goals ahead: strengthening membership, amplifying our voices in advocacy, fostering professional growth, and sharing best practices across the state. Together, we can continue to move forward with innovation and collaboration in Student Nutrition.
Advocacy and Leadership
Our work extends beyond the cafeteria. This year, I encourage you to take a step into legislative and advocacy efforts, where your voice can help shape the future of child nutrition in New Mexico and beyond. Together, we can ensure that our programs remain strong and that our students continue to receive the best possible support.
Membership and Professional Growth
The Fall Membership Drive will run from October 1st through December 31st. You may be asking, “Why NMSNA?” Membership is more than belonging. It is about growth, recognition, and leadership. Through the National Certification and Credentialing Program, members have the opportunity to earn recognition across many levels. For those who are ready to step forward, I encourage you to consider serving on our Board.
For more information or to get involved, please reach out to myself or to our past President, Dean Gallegos.
Thank you for your dedication to the students and communities we serve. I look forward to an exciting and impactful year ahead for NMSNA.
